Waterways for Everyone
Waterways for Everyone is
the Government strategy for the Future of Inland Waterways. It
follows the publication of Waterways for Tomorrow in 2000 and sets
out the objectives of the network in a series of thematic chapters.
The BMF has responded on behalf of its members and has raised its
concerns surrounding the large maintenance backlog within the
budget of the navigation authorities, the need for greater
involvement by local authorities in the up-keep of the towpath and
greater the need for an ongoing commitments by Government to fund
the network adequately.
